چکیده

Purpose: To investigate the anti-inflammatory effects and antioxidant activity of Oroxylum indicum (L.) Kurz fruit extract in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated BV2 microglia.
Methods: cells were treated with LPS for 24 h presence or absence O. extract. Then, nitric oxide (NO), reactive oxygen species (ROS) interleukin 6 (IL-16) levels measured using Griess reagent assay, CM-H2DCFDA enzyme-linked immunosorbent (ELISA) assays, respectively. The vitro property was also investigated by 1,1- diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) 2,2’-azino-bis-3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulphonic acid (ABTS) assays.
Results: Levels IL-6, NO, ROS LPS-treated significantly higher than those control (p < 0.01). However, exposure to led a marked decrease these parameters, when compared untreated Results from DPPH ABTS assays showed that exhibited good properties, total flavonoid phenolic contents 115.58 ± 1.09 131.04 2.37 mg/g dried extract, respectively.
Conclusion: results demonstrate exerts anti-oxidant LPS-stimulated cells. Thus might be beneficial development novel anti-oxidative anti-neuroinflammatory herbal medicines. mechanisms which indium fruits reduces NO IL-6 needs further investigated.

Background: It is believed that activation of microglia in the central nervous system upon detection of stimulus like lipopolysaccharides provokes neuroinflammation via the production of pro-inflammatory mediators and cytokines. The cytoprotective and anti-inflammatory properties of various folk medicine has been gaining attention as a strategy to combat various disease. This study aimed to ass...

Microglia are resident immune cells in the central nervous system. They play a role in normal brain development and neuronal recovery. However, overactivation of microglia causes neuronal death, which is associated with neurodegenerative diseases, such as Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease. Therefore, controlling microglial activation has been suggested as an important target for treat...
